Hello

I'm Melissa Hendrickson

I’m an Industrial Designer focused on furniture and home accessories.

My background began in fashion. I spent a decade building and running an apparel sewing-pattern company before discovering Industrial Design and realizing it was where my true curiosity and creativity was. I sold the company, went back to school, and fully committed to the field.

My work explores how everyday objects can feel both functional and joyful. I’m drawn to minimalism with high-impact shapes and details that add a sense of play to interior spaces.

Manufacturing + Materials

My process is grounded in manufacturing methods and thoughtful material use.

My education emphasizes how products come together in mass production, with attention to assembly efficiency, material optimization, shipping considerations, and full life-cycle impact.

I have experience taking designs from initial sketches through final details in collaboration with manufacturers, and I’m comfortable working within specific production or material constraints.

I’d love to discuss a project or explore a collaboration!
